Nikolai Wenzel Lecture on “Hong Kong, Thanksgiving and the TFAS Classroom: The Enduring Importance of Liberty.”
TFAS supporters, friends and local alumni are invited to join us for a dinner featuring Dr. Nikolai Wenzel, TFAS Hong Kong professor of political economy, at The University Club of Milwaukee on Nov. 5, 2019. As a leading scholar of free-market economics, Dr. Wenzel will share examples of how markets provide human flourishing and happiness and how he demonstrates these ideas to students attending our summer program in Hong Kong.

ABOUT DR. NIKOLAI WENZEL
Professor Wenzel’s research focuses on constitutional political economy and the institutions that promote human liberty and flourishing, with an emphasis on the role of ideology and culture, the history of ideas and the work of Austrian economist F.A. Hayek.
His work has been published in more than 20 journals, including the Review of Austrian Economics, the Journal of Private Enterprise and the Oxford Handbook of the Sociology of Religion. He is the co-author of a book on libertarianism versus conservatism from Stanford University Press.
While teaching in Hong Kong this summer, Wenzel shared an eyewitness account of the threats to free institutions and protests in support of democracy. Read Dr. Wenzel’s firsthand account from the unrest in Hong Kong, where he said “the light of freedom risks being snuffed out” and join us to hear more from him on Nov. 5.
To join us, please contact TFAS Special Events Director Jane Mack at jmack@TFAS.org or 202.986.0384 by Tuesday, Oct. 29. We look forward to seeing you there!
