On Aug. 27, TFAS welcomed the Capital Semester Fall 2014 students to the nation’s capital.

The group, comprised of 15 students from all over the country and the world, is living in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, just minutes away from the Library of Congress and the U.S. Capitol Building. They are taking upper level economics and government classes from faculty of prestigious D.C. institutions.

In less than a month, the group has already toured the U.S. Capitol Building, the National Air and Space Museum, the Library of Congress and volunteered at the Capital Area Food Bank.

The students are interning in political offices, government agencies, media outlets, think tanks and nonprofits. Some of the internship sites include kglobal Public Relations, CBS This Morning, the Department of Treasury Office of Emergency Programs and Child Care Aware.

Student Adam Barnett (CSF 14) came to D.C. ready to hit the ground running. “I look forward to interning with kglobal and learning more about the public relations aspect outside of the sports world,” Barnett said. “Also, I’m very interested in visiting the monuments and going to sporting events here in D.C.”
