New Alumni Council Members

After carefully reviewing over 60 nominations, the TFAS Alumni Council elected fourteen new members to its ranks in late 2009. The new council members began their terms in January 2010.

Joining the council as members at-large are:

• Claire Cary (E 01, A 02)
• John Dogero (CSS 06, I 06)
• Fritz Eggen (LSI 08)
• Peter Feldman (P 04, LSI 07)
• Jennifer Hale (J 99)
• Joseph Heerens (E 83)
• Theresa Kostrzewa (E 84)
• Paul Sass (B 00)
• Toby Stock (B 98)
• Maureen Suda (B 90)
• Chris Wilson (E 90)

Four new chapter presidents have also been appointed. Vlad Malamud (B 05), Marissa Petersen (P05), Kate Plourd (J 06) and Kathryn Stanko (E 72). For more on these new chapter presidents, CLICK HERE.

Representing numerous cities around the U.S., the council meets semi-annually to exchange ideas, encourage professional and personal relationships and develop programming that cultivates alumni involvement.

The Alumni Council Steering Committee remains the same, with Dan McConchie (J 93, A 95) as chairman, Ken Klatt (E 70) as the vice chairman of development, Alissa Swango (J 00, I 02) as the vice chairwoman of communications, John Sweda (E 97) as the alumni activities vice chairman, Mike Kelly (CSF 03) as the vice chairman of awards and Megan Hoot (P 02) as vice chairwoman of membership and development.

The new officers and council members were elected to serve their two-year term by the 2008-2009 Alumni Council. The new council is comprised of 43 members, including 24 at-large members, 13 alumni chapter presidents and six council officers.

Responsibilities of the council include advising The Fund’s staff on all aspects of alumni programming, administering the alumni awards program and supporting the Alumni Scholarship Fund campaign.

The Alumni Council recently met on April 17, during the Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. The next meeting will be November 12-13 at The Fund’s annual Leadership Network Conference in Palm Beach, Fla.
