Applicants should submit the following documents through our online application survey:
- A statement of purpose detailing your reasoning for applying to EJI and your goals you want to achieve by attending the institute;
- A submitted or published article or project you believe is your best work;
- Your updated Resume or CV;
- A letter of recommendation from a professor, adviser, dean or supervisor (we prefer someone who knows you in an academic or professional capacity). You may either submit the recommendation through the online survey or ask your recommender to email their letter to Mr. Matthew Kwasiborski, director of European Institutes at TFAS: mkwasiborski@TFAS.org.
Please be aware that the EJI Admissions Committee will only evaluate completed applications with all of the required fields. When your application is evaluated you will receive an email notification from TFAS and The Free Media Project with our joint decision concerning your participation.
All accepted EJI participants will be required to pay a participation fee. This fee will be designated toward your EJI costs and will cover your room and board, breakfast and lunch (some days dinner will be included), academic materials and special events. EJI cannot cover your travel, visa costs (if applicable) or out of pocket money.
The maximum amount an EJI participant will pay is $250. The participation fee will be determined by the strength of your application and economic situation. The participation fee includes housing in the campus dorm, at least two meals per day and academic material related to EJI.
