Housing

//////////////////////

TFAS Summer Law Fellowship housing is located at 616 23rd Street NW, on George Washington University’s campus in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood of D.C. Foggy Bottom was given its name due to its location on the foggy banks of the Potomac River. As one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city, it is home to:

  • Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts
  • Watergate Complex
  • State Department
  • World Bank
  • International Monetary Fund
  • Many restaurants and shops

Students will be assigned to single-occupancy apartments with a private bedroom and kitchen facilities. TFAS housing is optional. Students not comfortable living in a dorm environment are encouraged to find accommodations elsewhere. Students opting out of TFAS housing will receive a $1,200 housing stipend upon the start of the program.

COVID-19 Vaccination

Please note: George Washington University Summer Housing currently requires all residents to have received a complete primary series as well as booster vaccination against COVID-19 before moving into residence buildings. Medical exemptions are reviewed and approved by GW, but religious exemptions will not be considered.

Any TFAS students not fully vaccinated by the start of the program will be responsible for finding their own housing.

Any questions about GW’s vaccination policy may be directed to Lainey Carlton, TFAS Housing Director, at lcarlton@TFAS.org.
