TFAS Eben Tisdale Fellowship Ranked In Top 10 By Profellow

Fellowship database ProFellow ranked the TFAS Eben Tisdale Public Policy Fellowship among the Top 10 Summer Fellowships of 2014.

“We are pleased that the Eben Tisdale Public Policy Fellowship has been recognized as a top summer fellowship by ProFellow.  The program has provided a number of students from different backgrounds an immersion in high-tech policy since 1998,” said Colin Parks, program manager.

The Eben Tisdale Public Policy Fellowship gives students hands-on experience in policy, as well as a full scholarship to attend the TFAS Institute on Business and Government Affairs (IBGA).  Selected students intern at a high-tech company, firm or trade association, and take two classes accredited through George Mason University. Fellows also attend weekly seminar lunches hosted by the Tisdale sponsors, and briefings at numerous D.C. institutions such as U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Capitol and Federal Reserve.

The fellowship covers tuition for the program and includes furnished housing at George Washington University in downtown, D.C. for nine weeks. The award also offers a $1,000 stipend.

The fellowship is named in honor of Eben Tisdale, who served as a general manager of government affairs for Hewlett-Packard Company for many years.  Tisdale was one of the most dedicated and effective public policy advocates in the high-tech industry.

“The Tisdale Fellows program opened my eyes to the role that tech companies play in shaping public policy in DC. I had no idea that there were so many issues that affect the development of technology – from cybersecurity to tax policy. The Tisdale Fellows program offered me an invaluable experience and education in my public policy studies,” said Eric Nakano, a Duke University student who interned at the Technology CEO Council as a fellow in 2012.

The application deadline for the 2014 Eben Tisdale Public Policy Fellowship is Feb. 10, 2014. The program will take place from June 8 – Aug. 9, 2014 in Washington, D.C.  For more information and to apply, please visit: www.TFAS.org/Tisdale.
