More than 60 TFAS alumni gathered in Washington, D.C., this April to reconnect with friends old and new. Beautiful weather and great company made for the perfect spring evening to celebrate the companionship and support of the TFAS Alumni Network.

The evening featured toasts, reunions and reconnecting over shared TFAS experiences. It took place on the rooftop at Tiki TNT overlooking the waterfront on The Wharf. Alumni donned leis and floral accessories to join in on the festive theme.

Guests in attendance represented classes spanning three decades, from 1993 to 2021. They graduated from a variety of TFAS programs, such as the D.C. Academic Internship Programs, TFAS International, professional fellowships and more.

John Foulkes ’17, Carson Fort ’18 and Jordan Rodell ’18 connected during the happy hour.

TFAS mentor and alumnus  Zach Pagovski ’10, PPF ’12, was one of the many alumni in attendance. A longtime volunteer for TFAS D.C. Summer Programs, Pagovski shared what TFAS means to him: “a great network of people, friendship, intellectual curiosity and knowledge.”

Samantha Summers ’13, PPF ’16, echoed this sentiment. She added that she was glad to reconnect and reminisce on the “wonderful memories” that made their TFAS experiences unique.

Kevin Sun ’16 reconnects with TFAS classmates Sarah Markley ’16 and Joel Troutman ’16.

“It’s great to see familiar faces and reconnect with TFAS alumni tonight, especially post-pandemic when we haven’t seen each other in so long,” she said.

The evening capped off with a fun game of trivia. Attendees separated into teams and tested their knowledge on general topics, D.C. fun facts and TFAS history.

TFAS Alumni Engagement Manager Jennifer Stangland said the event highlighted the important connections among TFAS alumni and the power of the TFAS Network.

“Seeing so many TFAS alumni come together in one space was certainly special,” she said. “Tonight’s attendance really shows there is an opportunity for our network to grow and build important connections in Washington and beyond.”

The TFAS Alumni Engagement team looks forward to reconnecting with more alumni throughout the year through upcoming lectures, continuing education and social events.

TFAS alumni who want to reconnect and network with classmates and fellow alumni can log in to the recently launched networking portal at alumni.TFAS.org to find local and online events and opportunities.

The next event for TFAS alumni and friends will be held on Wednesday, May 18, at the Harvard Club in New York City. Learn more and register at TFAS.org/NYCevent.
