TFAS Mourns The Passing Of Nobel Laureate In Economics James M. Buchanan

//////////////////////

jamesbuchananProfessor Buchanan is author of over thirteen books and hundreds of articles in the areas of public finance, public choice, constitutional economics and economic philosophy. Buchanan delivered the inaugural Lev Dobriansky Lecture on Political Economy to ICPES students in 1996. He was a professor emeritus at George Mason University, the new academic partner of TFAS. TFAS looks forward to continuing Buchanan’s legacy by teaching students about the market process, the role of incentives, and public choice economics.

“I first met Professor Buchanan in 1976 when he attended a conference I organized in Tennessee. In subsequent years, he was always generous with his time when we invited him to speak to students about economics,” said TFAS President Roger Ream. “He was a brilliant thinker with an intellectual curiosity that was unsurpassed. He made his mark on economics and his works will be studied for many years to come.”

The TFAS hosted blog Pileus also mourns Buchanan’s passing. Read their post: James Buchanan, R.I.P.
