As part of the newly adopted strategic plan, the board of trustees has approved a re-organization of the TFAS management structure. The changes became effective April 15.

Steve Slattery was promoted to the position of executive vice president. In this capacity, Slattery will have managerial oversight over all TFAS departments. During his 18 years at TFAS, Slattery has played a key role in the organizations growth. He has previously served as head of the development department and U.S. and international programs departments.

Slattery will work closely with TFAS president Roger Ream in implementing the new operational plan and launching a capital fundraising campaign.

Shane Goldsmith Mazzella, was promoted to the position of vice president for U.S. Programs. An 8-year veteran of TFAS, she will continue to oversee the 10-person staff of all U.S. based programs, including the four summer Institutes, Capital Semester, the Legal Studies Institute and the Leadership Fellows and TFAS Scholars programs.

Rob Callahan, vice president for finance and administration, was given the additional title of Chief Financial Officer.

On May 1st, several other changes were announced. IPJ director Joe Starrs now serves as director of both IPJ and the Engalifcheff Institute (ICPES). Haley Heieck was promoted to the position of program coordinator for ICPES. Mark Pfundstein, who served as ICPES director for three years, will be relocating to Germany, where he was awarded a Bosch Fellowship.
