Emil Atanasovski (AIPES 00, ICPES 02) earned a bachelor’s degree in political science in 2004 at the Sts. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje.

Atanasovski interned with the U.S. Department of Heath in Washington, D.C. and worked as an assistant political analyst for the head of the OSCE/ODIHR mission in Macedonia. He has also worked with election monitoring programs in his home country and in Bulgaria over the past several years.

In 1999, he participated in the first Macedonian Parliament Internship program hosted by the National Democratic Institute (NDI). Since 2002, Atanasovski has served as the coordinator of the NDI Macedonia Parliamentary Program. He is responsible for the promotion, selection and training of Parliamentary interns. He has helped launch and is now serving as the president of the TFAS-Macedonian alumni chapter.

Atanasovski feels that his experiences with TFAS in Prague and Washington, D.C. helped to shape his professional and personal goals.

“Both of my TFAS experiences were phenomenal. AIPES 2000 gave me hope, vision and a renewed dream for a better future while ICPES 2002 gave me direction and strength to continue activism and involvement in society. I’m happy to have had the TFAS experiences and that experience and legacy is now driving me to provide similar opportunities for young men and women in Macedonia.”
