About the Role

The International Program Operations Manager will focus on admissions, planning and execution of TFAS International Programs. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented and collaborative, with strong written and oral communication skills.

This person is a part of the TFAS International Programs team and will report to the Director of International Programs. This position is based in-person, in Washington, D.C., and will require both domestic and international travel. Once established, there will be an option to work in a hybrid capacity.

Responsibilities

The manager’s responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

Admissions

  • Manage student admissions using the enrollment CRM (Element 451)
  • Track applications, conversion to enrollment, payments and travel forms
  • Generate and provide weekly admissions reports to the Director of International Programs
  • Address general questions and inquiries received at international@tfas.org regarding all programs
  • Review applications for program admissions

Program Planning

  • Coordinate with internal department to develop the program calendar
  • Coordinate faculty availability and manage contracts
  • Coordinate accommodations for participants, faculty, and staff
  • Oversee program logistics to ensure smooth execution
  • Act as the primary liaison with partner universities
  • Manage program budgets and process program-related invoices

Program Operations

  • Oversee execution of international programs on-site from before the start date to after the completion date
  • Serve as a primary point of contact between students, university partners, and other contacts
  • Offer practical and emotional support to the student cohort throughout the program
  • Assist the Director of International Programs with general administration and program evaluation
  • Review program evaluations to gather feedback and insights for future improvements

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

  • 2-5+ years’ experience in event planning, marketing, international affairs, higher education admissions, or project management
  • Internship experience will be considered
  • Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally, up to 20%
  • Alignment with the mission of the Fund for American Studies
  • Proficiency in using enrollment CRMs, such as Element 451 and Radius by Campus Management
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to track applications, payments, and other relevant data accurately
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Political Science, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related discipline

Desired Program Planning + Operations Skills 

  • Demonstrated experience in program coordination or event planning
  • Familiarity with budget management and invoice processing
  • Attention to detail to ensure all logistics, including accommodations and scheduling, are handled efficiently
  • Willingness to travel and stay on-site for the duration of programs, including evenings and weekends
  • Strong interpersonal skills for serving as a liaison between various stakeholders, including university students, university partners, and staff
  • Experience with Microsoft Planner, SharePoint, OneNote, and Teams
  • Interest in international student programming with an emphasis on free-market education
  • Experience studying or working abroad is a plus
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and also independently

This is a full-time, permanent position. The projected salary range for this role is $50-65k, contingent upon the specific skills and experience of the selected candidate.
