2014 Capital Semester Spring Students Greeted In D.C.

TFAS greeted Capital Semester Spring students on Wednesday, Jan. 15 in D.C. Students moved into housing just blocks away from Library of Congress, the U.S. Capitol building, and a number of other sites.

The group is comprised of 15 students from throughout the U.S. and abroad. Their backgrounds combine experience in politics, media, extracurricular activities, public policy, economics, volunteer work and international travel.

Students will intern at organizations and companies in public policy, politics, economics, public relations and media. They will also take two upper-level classes on government and economics, accredited through George Mason University. Classes will include: Constitutional Interpretation, taught by Professor John Samples of the Cato Institute, Economic Problems and Public Policies, taught by Anne Bradley of the Institute for Faith, Work & Economics and visiting professor at Georgetown, and Internship Seminar, taught by TFAS Alumna and Professor Karen Czarnecki (ICPES 88) of George Mason School of Law and Professor Richard Benedetto formerly of USA Today.
