Brick Unveiling Ceremony at TFAS

On Friday, April 16, alumni gathered at the newest TFAS building, the Center for Teaching Freedom, for a champagne toast and special brick unveiling ceremony.

The alumni celebrated this momentous occasion with donors, staff, alumni council members and board members as April 15-16 served as the Annual Conference for TFAS.

The Fund’s first employee, Kathy Rothschild, and The Fund’s most recent employee Stephanie Goodison, helped to roll back the tarp which was covering the bricks.

Alumni that had purchased bricks in 2009 for the Alumni Scholarship Fund then searched for their personalized bricks in the patio.

“It’s great to see the new building and our brick is icing on the cake,” said Ken Klatt (E 70) who has served on the Alumni Council for over six years. “My daughter Katie attended ICPES last summer so TFAS has become a family tradition.”

After the bricks were unveiled, the celebration moved across the street to TFAS Headquarters, 1706 New Hampshire Ave. where alumni enjoyed drinks and appetizers while mingling with one another.
