Featured Alumna: Erin Slater (IPVS 99)

//////////////////////

Erin Slater (IPVS 99) is program director for College Mentors for Kids! (CMFK), an Indianapolis-based nonprofit organization that cultivates ongoing one-on-one relationships between college students and elementary-aged students. For the duration of the school year, college students are coupled with elementary students, creating a buddy pair. These buddy pairs meet in groups for weekly activities on the college campus. Through these activities, children explore new opportunities and begin to develop a larger sense of the world and their place in it.

CMFK originated at Indiana University in 1995. Since then, CMFK has grown to include 12 more colleges across Indiana.

Slater has served as an intern sponsor and a guest panelist for the Institute on Philanthropy and Voluntary Service (IPVS). She has also helped organize IPVS alumni reunions and student events during the Institute. Slater is a graduate of Purdue University.
