The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) is pleased to announce that Lindsay Craig is joining the organization as Strategic Advisor and America 250 Program Lead. In this role, she will lead the next strategic planning effort, working with TFAS President and CEO Roger Ream, the TFAS Board of Trustees, and senior management. As part of this process, she will also develop and implement new educational programs focused on civics and the American founding, envisioned to both complement and augment TFAS’s existing programs. Ms. Craig has a deep knowledge of and commitment to TFAS’s mission and programs, having served as a dedicated and valuable trustee of TFAS since 2018.
“Ms. Craig will be bringing her proven skills as a leader and vast experience building effective programs to an already talented team,” TFAS President and CEO Roger Ream said. “This will accelerate the organization’s growth and increase our impact in developing courageous leaders who will advance the ideas of economic freedom and individual liberty.”
Ms. Craig is a well-known and respected executive in the broader liberty movement, with an impressive track record of providing strategic vision for organizations, developing new initiatives into lasting programs, growing donor-base communities, increasing funding, and building successful teams. For the last 11 years, Lindsay served as President of the National Review Institute (NRI), expanding its donor base tenfold and its revenue elevenfold. She created and successfully executed several programs, including the popular Burke to Buckley Fellowship Program, the Institute’s biennial Regional Seminars, and the prestigious William F. Buckley Jr. Prizes. Before joining NRI, Ms. Craig served for 16 years at the Manhattan Institute, where she oversaw strategic marketing, public relations, scholar relations, and outreach to policymakers as Vice President of Communications, as well as developing a successful young-donor program and impactful, high-profile outreach events.
Ms. Craig joins TFAS as it is positioned to build on a decade of impressive growth, which has included the acquisition of the Foundation for Teaching Economics, the launch of the Center for Excellence in Journalism, and the growth of programs for young professionals. Ms. Craig will help to identify new strategic opportunities for the organization to pursue and develop new program initiatives. Having established valuable relationships and connections in the broader liberty movement, Ms. Craig will expand the Fund’s reach to new student and donor communities.
“I am honored to be joining TFAS in this new capacity. As a board member, I have been continually impressed by the exceptional TFAS programs conducted by their accomplished team,” said Ms. Craig. “I look forward to highlighting the good work already being done to equip the next generation of intrepid champions of liberty and exploring ways we can have an even greater impact.”
