The TFAS summer institutes in Washington, D.C. may have just ended, but recruitment for the 2016 summer and semester programs is in full swing. Each fall, our recruitment and admissions department creates a packed travel schedule for TFAS staff to attend various conferences, campuses and career fairs across the country, and this fall is no different. TFAS will be traveling coast to coast to talk to students about living, learning and interning in Washington, D.C.

Even though TFAS will be recruiting at over 25 different events, we know that the best recruitment tool is you! As a former TFAS student and now alumnus, you are able to promote TFAS programs and encourage other student leaders in your network to apply to be future TFAS students. Your firsthand experience speaks volumes when talking to others about TFAS. You are our strongest asset when it comes to recruitment.

How can you, as alumni get involved?

  • Promote DC Internships on Social
    Media:
Share, retweet and repost our social media posts and post your own unique content to promote the programs. Don’t forget to follow our #travelingcapitol on the DC Internships Facebook page and our recruitment Twitter and Instagram accounts (@DCInternships) as it ventures across the country with TFAS staff!
  • Write a Guest Blog Post: Write a testimonial on your unique D.C. experience to be featured on our blog and other social media platforms.
  • Provide Brochures to a Campus Career Office and Student Organizations: Bring our promotional materials to various offices on a college campus near you.
  • Give On-Campus Presentations: Speak to interested students about our programs using presentation materials that we will provide.
  • Meet with TFAS staff on your campus or a city near you!

Email Mallie Woodfin, coordinator of recruitment and admissions, at mwoodfin@TFAS.org to get involved or if you have any questions.

Where is TFAS going?

When is TFAS starting to recruit?
TFAS already kicked off their recruitment season by attending the Delta Sigma Pi National Conference in Chicago, Illinois in August. Starting next week, TFAS staff will be nonstop recruiting, attending conferences and events almost every week or weekend well into the spring season. Check out the table below for a more detailed schedule.

Our staff is excited to hit the road and recruit top students. We hope you will help us recruit the best and brightest for the 2016 D.C. programs!
