TFAS Thanks Alumni, Mentors & Internship Sponsors By Hosting A Cinco De Mayo Happy Hour

//////////////////////

On May 5, 2015, TFAS hosted a Cinco de Mayo happy hour to give back to alumni, mentors and intern sponsors that volunteer their time, energy and expertise throughout the year to make sure students have a true TFAS experience while they are in Washington.

Over 70 attended the event, including 33 alumni in the Washington, D.C. area. This was a great opportunity for networking and a great way for staff to connect with alumni, mentors and intern sponsors in person.

Many attendees mentioned that they were excited for the summer to start and excited for TFAS students to arrive in Washington.

“TFAS always throws a great party. It was fun to catch up with friends and chat about how summer is almost here! I’m really looking forward to hosting our organization’s first intern from TFAS this year,” said Erica DeBrock, who is the digital campaign manager at TUSK Digital. DeBrock was also a TFAS mentor last summer.

Alumna and mentor Tiana Bouma (CSF 12) said, “I had such a good experience mentoring last summer that I couldn’t wait to come back and serve as mentor again to new students in the TFAS programs. This was a perfect event to kickstart the summer and reconnect with TFAS staff and other mentors.”
