About the Role

The Fund for American Studies seeks an office manager for its elegant Northwest Washington headquarters. This role will manage office administrative functions and accounts payable. Excellent verbal skills, organization skills, and interpersonal communication skills are a must. We offer an attractive compensation package and a superb work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage administrative operations
    • Office supplies, equipment, and postage
    • Manage Fedex/UPS, Uber/Lyft, building alarms
    • Manage all office and building vendors, including Fedex/UPS/USPS, Uber/Lyft, building alarm contract, janitorial contract, HVAC contract
    • Receive mail and deliveries
  • Manage accounts payable
    • Receive and pay all vendor invoices and check requests using Bill.com accounts payable system
    • Manage corporate credit cards and related employee expense reports using Tallie expense management system and bank credit card management system
  • Manage automated phone system
    • Set up new users, changing extensions, training staff on phone use
    • Receive/route general voicemail box messages to staff

Qualifications

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in an efficient, well-organized manner
  • Office management experience
  • Knowledge of automated accounts payable systems such as Bill.com and Tallie or similar systems
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
