Coordinator, Student + Alumni Programs

Cecilia (Cece) Gutierrez serves as the coordinator of student and alumni programs for TFAS’s high school division, the Foundation for Teaching Economics (FTE).

Prior to joining the team, Cece worked for three years as a bilingual community and nature program coordinator with Ventana Wildlife Society, where they broke down barriers and connected underserved youth and adults to the natural world through inclusive, community-based programs. During this time, they built a community club from the ground up and also launched a workplace wellness group to support the health and well-being of colleagues.

Cece holds a degree in environmental studies with a concentration in education from California State University, Monterey Bay and bring more than eight years of experience as an outdoor educator.

Originally born in Texas and raised in Riverside County, California, Cece spent the past 12 years living in Monterey before recently relocating to Sacramento, where they are enjoying getting to know their new city.

Cece is deeply passionate about higher education, environmental stewardship and building strong community connections. Outside of work, they enjoy spending time with family and friends, going on long walks and embracing any opportunity for adventure.
