Kerri DiNarda Shimko ’06 first came to TFAS in the summer of 2006 as a student in the Institute on Political Journalism (IPJ). In 2007, she returned to TFAS where she now works as communications director.
Kerri is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Mount Union where she earned her bachelor’s degree in media studies and web design. As a student, Kerri worked at her campus radio station, WRMU 91.1 FM. She served as the station’s public relations director for two semesters before being promoted to program director during her senior year.
In 2008, Kerri won an Ohio Society of Professional Journalism award for Best Public Affairs Program in small market radio. She also received the University of Mount Union’s Cynthia L. Hepler Radio Award and the Robert I. Brainard, Jr. Communications Award.
As an IPJ student, Kerri was a public relations intern with Crosby-Volmer International Communications.
