Robert J. Callahan is a certified public accountant and came to The Fund for American Studies in 2001 as the vice president of finance and administration.

Before coming to TFAS, Rob was the chief financial officer for the Free Congress Foundation. Prior to that, he worked for The National Association of Home Builders, the National Governors’ Association and Thomas Havey & Co., CPAs. He graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1987 and is a licensed CPA in the State of Maryland.

Rob is a member of the Maryland Association of CPAs and the Knights of Columbus. He formerly served on the Prince George’s County Public School Board in Maryland and is a past president of the Prince George’s County, Maryland, Civic Federation.

Rob’s interests include politics, American history – especially the periods of the founding and the Civil War – tennis, baseball and biking. Each year Rob rides 100 miles in a charity bike tour, raising money for causes such as multiple sclerosis and lung disease research.

A lifelong Maryland resident, Callahan resides in Ellicott City with his wife, Gail, and their three sons. Rob coaches travel baseball for the Western Howard County Renegades, one of his sons’ teams. He is a Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals fan.
