Tyler Groenendal

Director of Foundation Relations

//////////////////////

Tyler Groenendal joined the TFAS team as the director of foundation relations in July 2019. Before coming to TFAS, Tyler was the foundation relations coordinator at the Acton Institute for the Study of Religion and Liberty.

Tyler’s intellectual heroes include Frédéric Bastiat, Ludwig von Mises, Edmund Opitz and F.A. Hayek. He agrees with Hayek that the key to building a free society is winning the long-term battle of ideas, and that the best way to do that is to educate current and future leaders in the essential principles of free markets and limited government.

Born and raised in west Michigan, Tyler graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics and a minor in mathematics from Hillsdale College. He lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he is also the leader of the local chapter of America’s Future Foundation (AFF). In his spare time, he enjoys listening to the music of Ritchie Blackmore, reading obscure libertarian science fiction, and eating and reviewing onion rings.
