The Religion of Identity Politics: How we arrived and where we go from here

Dr. Joshua Mitchell is a longtime TFAS professor in political philosophy and has also been a favorite speaker among donors who have attended our annual conferences. Thoughtful and insightful, he discusses the issue of identity politics, delving into its origins and explaining how we have arrived at the position we are in today. He’ll also help us to understand how we should react to our current era and what can be done to shift the arc of history we are in today.

Price Gouging or the Market at Work?

Dr. Don Boudreaux and Dr. Anne Bradley explain how anti-price gouging laws have paradoxically helped to increase the fuel shortage experienced on the east coast as a result of the Colonial Pipeline hack. They explain the role of prices in the economy and discuss how holding prices artificially low creates a mismatch between the demand curve and the supply, which results in the hoarding experienced in many east coast states. They also discuss the larger ramifications of government manipulation of prices and how these interventions oftentimes end up hurting exactly those they are intended to help. This webinar was recorded in May 2021.

Capitalism, Socialism and Arguments for Liberty

Sen. Rand Paul discusses capitalism, socialism and arguments for liberty in regards to the future of America. This webinar was recorded in February 2022.
