John A. Cataldo is the vice chairman for The Gutierrez Company and Gutierrez Construction Co., Inc.

TFAS supporter John A. Cataldo is focused on having a lasting impact on future generations through an endowed scholarship fund at TFAS.

The $160,000 John A. Cataldo Endowment Scholarship will ensure future TFAS students can attend our transformative programs to shape their education and careers. TFAS is grateful for Cataldo’s giving spirit and generosity toward the students.

“The longevity of this endowment will ensure students receive a quality internship and superior academic experience for years to come.” TFAS President Roger Ream (ICPES 76) said. “We are grateful and honored to be a part of Mr. Cataldo’s legacy in this way.”

In 1945, Cataldo graduated from Tufts College School of Engineering with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering, and as an Ensign served aboard the USS Montpelier in the Pacific Theater. He began his career as an engineer and estimator at the Boston office of Bethlehem Steel.

Cataldo is now the vice chairman of The Gutierrez Company, a real estate and development company in Burlington, Massachusetts. He joined Arthur Gutierrez to form this company in 1978. In the past 37 years, The Gutierrez Company has flourished to develop more than nine million square feet of office, retail and industrial space.

With 70 years’ experience in the professional workforce, Cataldo knows the importance of giving back to young professional leaders who will someday make a difference in their communities and throughout the world.

John A. Cataldo will celebrate his 90th birthday this month. Happy birthday, John!
