At a defining moment in our nation’s history, as America celebrates its 250th birthday, The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) invites leaders, scholars, students and alumni to participate in its 2026 Regional Events and Annual Conference. Held in select cities across the country, this series of forums will commemorate and honor America’s 250th birthday. The Developing Courageous Citizens: Revitalizing Civic Education and America’s Founding Principles event tour will examine the ideas that shaped the American founding and their relevance today.
Teaching Freedom 250

America’s upcoming semiquincentennial provides an opportunity to examine how the nation teaches the American founding. The Founders’ own narrative about what America is and means has been eroded in classrooms, and future generations risk losing the appreciation of history and civic knowledge essential to preserving the Republic.
The 2026 regional events will address these challenges through discussions on history and civics education, founding principles and how those principles are applied today.
Each event will also feature conversations and presentations highlighting how TFAS programs build a pipeline of courageous citizens prepared to carry forward the American experiment. These forums will reflect TFAS’s longstanding commitment to educating young people about individual liberty, personal responsibility and economic freedom.
America 250 Visiting Fellow

As part of the America 250 initiative, Lord Daniel Hannan will serve as the organization’s America 250 Visiting Fellow in 2026. A leading international expert on the American founding, Lord Hannan will speak to student, donor and alumni audiences across the United States throughout the year, including at the 2026 Regional Conferences. His work as a Visiting Fellow will focus on the importance of the American Founding and how the nation teaches the American experiment ahead of the semiquincentennial.
Lord Daniel Hannan of Kingsclere is a member of the U.K. House of Lords and the President of the Institute for Free Trade. An author and columnist, he serves as International Secretary of the Conservative Party and teaches at the University of Buckingham and the University of Francisco Marroquín. He has written nine books, including the New York Times bestseller “Inventing Freedom: How the English-Speaking Peoples Made the Modern World.” He sat as a Conservative Member of the European Parliament for 21 years and was a founder of Vote Leave. He is a regular columnist for, among others, The Sunday Telegraph, The Washington Examiner and The Daily Mail.

Sponsorship: Invest in Civic Renewal
Sponsorships for the 2026 Regional Events and Annual Conference provide an opportunity to partner with TFAS to strengthen civic education at a pivotal moment for the nation. Sponsors serve as leaders and investors in civic renewal, helping to advance understanding of America’s founding principles, inspire students and leave a lasting America 250 legacy. By supporting these events, they develop the next generation of courageous citizens ready to carry forward the ideals that have sustained the American experiment for 250 years.

Sponsors will connect directly with students, alumni, faculty and thought leaders through exclusive briefings, program sessions and reserved seating. They will receive recognition from the podium and in marketing materials, while these experiences and benefits remain secondary to the impact sponsors make on students, advance civic education and leave a lasting America 250 legacy.
America’s 250th birthday marks a historic moment for reflection and renewal. Through these conferences, TFAS equips students and supporters with the knowledge and courage to uphold the principles that have shaped the nation and continue to sustain the American experiment.
