Presenting the Freedom & Tradition Online Library

//////////////////////

The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) presents the Freedom and Tradition Online Library. The library can be found here.

The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) presents the Freedom and Tradition Online Library, one of many new resources available under the Future of Freedom Initiative to revitalize and reinvigorate curriculum on fusionism.

The interactive online library serves as a home for leading fusionist content, the political philosophy that grapples with the enduring tension between freedom and tradition, and how to navigate that tension in order to achieve a prosperous, virtuous society.

Providing audiences with the knowledge they need to grasp the long-standing tension between freedom and tradition, the library also helps educate individuals on the principles of American liberty and free enterprise.

The library contains sections that feature information to comprehend traditionalist and libertarian philosophical thought, including:

  • Markets and Morality
  • Virtue and Tradition
  • Politics and Culture
  • The Great Works

TFAS Senior Scholar Dr. Donald Devine said the library brings both classic and current authors and writers to a modern audience.

“The Freedom and Tradition Online Library presents historic and new authors and writers to a modern audience who, as President Ronald Reagan reminded us in one of his State of the Unions, “all stand on the shoulders of giants,” those historically “whose words and deeds put wind in the sails of freedom,” Devine said.

The digital library also features TFAS Liberty + Leadership Podcast episodes, Dr. Donald Devine’s columns, and articles from TFAS Public Policy Fellows, Robert Novak Journalism Fellows and Fusionist Roundtable attendees.

The TFAS Freedom & Tradition Online Library will undergo updates and enrichments on a regular basis, ensuring a perpetually enriched intellectual experience for visitors.

The Freedom & Tradition Online Library is a part of several new initiatives under the Future of Freedom Grant.

The library is one of several new initiatives under the Future of Freedom Grant. In conjunction with this support from the John William Pope Foundation, TFAS is engaging current and emerging leaders in broad and thoughtful discussion and collaboration about how to advance the principles of freedom and the Western rule-of-law tradition. The John William Pope Foundation supports nonprofit public policy work that defends the American tradition of a free-market economy under the rule of law.

The Freedom and Tradition Online Library can be found at TFAS.org/library. Please contact Ryan Wolfe, director of The Center for Excellence in Journalism, at rwolfe@TFAS.org with any questions.
