During the evening, Katherine Mangu-Ward, Novak ’05, will be presented with the Kenneth Y. Tomlinson Award for Outstanding Journalism. Mangu-Ward is editor-in-chief of Reason, the magazine of “free minds and free markets.”
The Kenneth Y. Tomlinson Award for Outstanding Journalism was established in 2015 to recognize a journalist who has exhibited excellence in reporting and a determination to present the truth, often against tough odds.

The evening will also showcase an update from our 2019 Novak Fellowship Recipients and reflections on the life and legacy of Robert Novak.
Novak provided the inspiration for the Robert Novak Journalism Fellowship Program in 1994 as a way to nurture a new generation of responsible journalists. Today, the Novak Program has awarded more than 140 fellowships to promising young journalists who are climbing the ranks as groundbreaking reporters, editors, editorial page writers, columnists and authors.
