The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) is pleased to announce Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio, Sen. Tom Carper of Delaware and Mr. Nick Calio of Airlines for America (A4A), as recipients of our 2017 Congressional and Business Leadership Awards.

TFAS will honor the recipients during the TFAS 28th Annual Scholarship Dinner on June 20 in Washington, D.C. This annual event raises scholarship funds for outstanding college students to attend our academic internship program on business and government affairs. Since its inception in 1990, this dinner has raised more than $5 million in scholarships for over 750 students. Through academic study, internships and panel discussions with leaders in the profession, students gain an appreciation for the essential interplay between business and government and its effect on our nation’s future.

TFAS students meet Sen. Cory Gardner at the 2016 TFAS Scholarship Dinner. Proceeds from the annual dinner provide scholarships for students to attend our academic internship program on business and government affairs.

The dinner is held annually in Washington, D.C. to honor two members of Congress and a leader from the business and government affairs community for their contributions to our nation and its young people. Recent past recipients of the awards include Cory Gardner of Colorado, Mark Warner of Virginia and Jay Timmons of the National Association of Manufactures. Click here to view a full listing of past award recipients. The evening is a highlight of the summer for students, as it gives them the opportunity to meet senators, members of Congress and leaders from the corporate community.
